Some residents on Astor Avenue are worried about their cars after a rash of grand larceny incidents.
One Astor Avenue resident says items were stolen from her car's glove compartment. She says a neighbor's car was robbed of its tires and rims. Another car was targeted in February.
Residents around the area have reported a spike in these car part robberies over the last six months. Some residents say they can recall about eight different incidents.
Some say they feel vulnerable knowing that their cars aren't safe in front of their homes.
Statistics also show that there has been an increase in grand larceny incidents in the state as a whole.
Officials say to combat tire theft, residents can purchase a tire lock or boot. They also recommend getting a tracker for the vehicle and making sure doors are locked at all times.
