Ceremony kicks off Hip-Hop Awareness Month

Nov. 1 marks the first day of Hip-Hop Awareness Month in the Bronx.

A kickoff ceremony at the Bronx Museum of the Arts had artists and dancers all representing the different styles of hip-hop.

Organizers say it's important to keep the hip-hop spirit alive and for people to remember its roots.

The event was meant to bring the core elements of hip-hop together to create an environment of peace, unity, love and fun.
