Staple video shop to close

A local video shop is closing its doors after 25 years in business.

The Video Zoo on Tremont Avenue has been a popular spot to get classics and new movie releases for years.

Owner and longtime Bronx resident Sal Pascale opened the store in the early 80s.

In 2000, the video store burned down. A year later, he set up shop two blocks down from his original location.

Pascale says movie downloading and online video streaming have hurt his business over the years, forcing him to close.

The Video Zoo is scheduled to close sometime in mid-November.
