A powerful nor'easter buffeted Orange County with heavy snow and powerful winds Friday, leading to dozens of car accidents.
On Interstate 87 in Newburgh an SUV and a snowplow collided, leaving at least one man hospitalized in critical condition.
State police are blaming the storm for more than 50 car accidents in the county, and they say dozens of additional cars were disabled.
On Lakes Road in Monroe, three cars were stuck in the snow Friday afternoon. One of the drivers said it took more than an hour to get there from Haverstraw.
The wet snow, whipping winds and low visibility even led to the shutdown of Interstate 84 on the border with Pennsylvania.
