A convicted sex offender accused of child rape at an Ardsley motel could face more felony charges Wednesday.
Police say William Davis, of Manhattan, was posing as a police officer in Brooklyn on December 28 when he lured a 12-year-old girl into his car. Davis drove the girl to the Ardsley Acres Motel where police say he raped her before bringing her back to the city the next morning. Detectives say because Davis kept the girl?s cell phone, they were able to track him to the motel on January 5.
Davis is classified as a level 3 sex offender after serving eight years in prison for sexually abusing girls in 1990. If convicted, Davis faces up to 25 years in prison for a first-degree criminal sex act. However, prosecutors could add impersonating an officer along with other felony charges.
