The hunt continues for the suspect in a fatal Millwood roadside shooting as a cloud of suspicion grows around the slain Chappaqua woman?s injured husband.
Divers are searching Echo Lake for a murder weapon while police question former clients of disbarred attorney Carlos Perez-Olivo. Investigators say they have not ruled out Perez-Olivo or his disgruntled clients as suspects. Authorities characterize the husband's account of the double shooting as unusual.
The former lawyer told police someone forced his car off Route 100 in Millwood on November 18. Perez-Olivo said the driver then jumped in his backseat, shot him in the stomach and Peggy Perez-Olivo in the head after a struggle. Perez-Olivo claims he managed to drive to the hospital where his wife later died. A memorial service was held Sunday for the teacher?s assistant.
