The Rockland County Legislature narrowly passed an amended 2016 country budget Friday.
The vote passed 9-8 following a drawn-out meeting Thursday night.
The revised $732.6 million spending plan carries a near 10 percent tax hike, or about $90 a year for the average homeowner.
Also approved was funding for unarmed security guards at county facilities, saving 32 jobs.
Funding was not approved for the sheriff's mounted patrol unit.
County Executive Ed Day could veto any line item in the budget. The Legislature would need 12 votes to override.
A fully approved budget had to be in place by Dec. 20.
