Congregants of a Rockland County mosque say they are doing their part to combat radicalization.
Mohammad Ziaullah, a Board of Trustees member at the Islamic Center of Rockland County in Valley Cottage, says it's time to denounce terrorism.
"They are not Muslim. They are barbarians, killing innocent people, regardless of religion, killing Muslims, Christians, Jews, everybody," he says.
Congregants of the mosque say they're keeping a watchful eye on suspicious behavior and anything unusual.
They say they will keep lines of communication open with local law enforcement agencies to keep the community safe.
In his address to the nation on Sunday, President Barack Obama urged members of the Muslim-American community to help fight terrorism and extremist ideology.
