The annual Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is nearing just as the region grapples with a coronavirus outbreak.
There are 207 restaurants participating this year, with 123 of them in Westchester.

Glenn Vogt owns a restaurant in Tarrytown. He says a couple of big companies canceled private events because of coronavirus concerns, but overall his business has not been impacted.

The restaurant is now taking some extra precaution to protect employees.

"We have offered the bussers, people in the kitchen, whomever is touching plates, silverware glassware - they can wear gloves, and some have opted to do that,” he says.

Rich Parente has been participating in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week for several years. He says diners at his restaurant in Brewster are not too concerned about the coronavirus.

"Most of them are just like everything else you know, this will pass. It could get worse. Hopefully, it doesn't. We'll do what we have to do,” he says.

Organizers are telling people to use common sense: Stay home if you're sick but otherwise go out and enjoy a three-course meal during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week at a bargain price.

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week runs from Monday, March 16 through Sunday, March 29.
News 12 will host a 30-minute call-in show every night this week at 7 p.m. from March 9 to March 13 where experts will answer your questions about the coronavirus. The show will be followed by a special Facebook Live Q&A. The call in number is 914-378-4610.
