The Bridgeport Rescue Mission is going to make sure that everyone has a place to stay to escape the heat this coming weekend.
The place has been fighting poverty for years, feeding almost two hundred people a day.
Now, they’re trying to help others get through the next couple of days.
Dane Button has lived out on the street and now works at the Rescue Mission, and says a woman recently came up to him and was so grateful for what the mission does.
“She said ‘I don't know you but I see you all time and I just wanted to stop you and say thank you,’” Button said.
The Rescue Mission will be open throughout the weekend, hoping to keep people safe in this brutal weather.
