Gay couples gathered at a gallery in Larchmont Wednesday night for a renewed push to legalize same-sex marriage and a unique art exhibit.

The Palmer Frame Shop is featuring dozens of framed photo album montages featuring gay and straight couples and families from the area.

?Look at what's on the wall. You can't tell who's gay, who's not, who should have rights, who shouldn't,? same-sex marriage advocate Claudia Glaser said.

Participants say they hope to shed light on the consequences of being denied all the state rights that marriage provides.

This is the second year the exhibit has been on display. Last year it created controversy at the New Rochelle restaurant that housed it. The display was briefly shut down because some felt it went too far. This year?s participants are hoping for a better run.

Activists have rallied around the same-sex marriage cause since the New York state Assembly passed a bill last year that could lead to legalization. Gov. Eliot Spitzer supports the measure but the state Senate has yet to follow suit and approve it.
