A member of the Bridgeport Board of Education appeared in court Monday on accusations of posing as a police officer and trying to kidnap a man at gunpoint.
Seymour police say a family dispute led to Chris and Stacy Taylor facing the charges. They say the two claimed to be police serving a warrant when they went to the house Stacy's son was living in, and tried to get him to leave with them.
Police reports say once he was outside the building, Chris Taylor tried to wrestle the victim in his car and threatened to pull a gun on him. There was also a young child in the car at the time, authorities say.
Police say it appears Stacy Taylor was trying to get her son out of his current living situation, and that she was allegedly concerned for his well-being. Court documents say a neighbor captured part of the episode on video, in which the Taylors can be heard pleading with the victim to come with them.
Chris Taylor claims there is exculpatory evidence that will prove his and wife's innocence. The two are due back in court on Jan. 14.
