A petition calling for a New Paltz officer who made a controversial rap video to return to work is gaining traction.

Officer Rob Sisco was placed on administrative leave over rap lyrics criticized as transphobic.
Sisco can be seen in a video rapping, saying, "There's only two genders and Trump is still your president. Boys have a penis and girls have a vagina."
The Town of New Paltz is now conducting an internal investigation.
The petition on Change.org is calling for officials to rethink the move. It calls Sisco an asset to the community-- saying he has served on the narcotics team for five years.
So far more than 900 people have signed the petition.
