A Peekskill High School's acapella group is preparing for their biggest honor yet: opening for a Grammy Award-winning group.
The City Singers are preparing for a performance at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, where they will be opening for famed acapella group the Manhattan Transfer.
The Manhattan Transfer became the first vocal group to win Grammy Awards in the pop and jazz categories in 1981.
"Some days I go to school and I cry," says choral director Larry Del Casale. "This is just a joy to hear that kind of singing and that kind of musicianship coming from a 14- or 15-year-old."
Del Casale says he believes the arts help keep kids interested in school.
The City Singers will perform Friday at 8 p.m.
