A dry cleaning shop in Peekskill does more than just clean shirts and press suits: the shop owner lends his services to help people look their best, even when they can't afford it.
Dominic Volpe and his family have been in the dry cleaning business for decades. He has owned Dominic's Dry Cleaner and Tailoring on South Street in Peekskill for 40 years. Volpe has teamed up with local community groups to help needy people find donated clothing for special occasions such as graduations, proms and commencements. His shop does all the alterations, mending, cleaning and fittings, totally free of charge.
In turn, the shop has a large and loyal following.
