Pace Univ. keeps VA Tech students in their prayers
Students, faculty and staff at Pace University gathered Thursday to share their prayers for those suffering at Virginia Tech.
Words of comfort were spoken at a prayer vigil at the Pleasantville campus. Those in attendance were connecting through their hearts and prayers with fellow students who suffered through a tremendous tragedy.
On Monday, Virginia Tech senior Cho Seung-Hui went on a shooting spree, methodically killing 32 people before taking his own life. One of his victims was 19-year-old Caitlin Hammaren, a sophomore from Orange County. Hammaren graduated from Minisink Valley High School in 2005.
Pace University junior Hugues Sygiey has a cousin at Virginia Tech who is an engineering student. Sygiey says his cousin lost friends and had other friends injured in the massacre.
Said Pace University President David Caputo: ?I think it's very important for our students, faculty and staff to have a sense of community and being able to express, in a community setting, both their grief and their concern.?
