Gov. Andrew Cuomo has given the go-ahead for visitors at hospitals, along with group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Families are being reunited after some spent the past few months in isolation.
Safety guidelines are in place for the facilities choosing to move forward with welcoming visitors, including a mandate to wear masks or face coverings.
Hard-hit nursing homes are still closed to visitors.
