The Brooklyn mother whose 1-year-old child was ripped from her arms at a city Human Resources Association center will have to pay a $125 fine and do community service to drop charges in a credit card fraud case in New Jersey.
News 12 reported that Jazmine Headley, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, had taken a day off work on Friday to find out why her son's child day care vouchers had been cut off. Headley was sitting on the floor because there weren't enough chairs.
She was asked to move, then security called 911 and the situation escalated. In a viral video, NYPD officers are shown pulling her toddler from her arms. She was then arrested and taken to Rikers Island.
Charges related to that incident, including resisting arrest, acting in a manner injurious to a child, obstructing governmental administration and criminal trespassing,  were dropped Tuesday. Headley said Tuesday that she was thankful for the outpouring of support.
The NYPD says the department is looking into how this happened.
