Members of the Minisink Valley JROTC put 3,000 flags on graves at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery Tuesday.
County Executive Steve Neuhaus, who is a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, says he appreciates the show of support by young people for our fallen service members.
"It’s not about barbecues and hanging out with family, which is what a lot of people do – including me,” said Neuhaus. “It’s also a time to reflect and remember why we are able to do that.”
Flags are placed on graves at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery each year ahead Memorial Day.
