A man was stabbed multiple times Thursday morning in Norwalk, police said.

Authorities said the man was found just after 1 a.m. on Midwood Road suffering from multiple serious stab wounds. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital but has since been released. The victim’s name has not been released.

Authorities said the person responsible for the stabbing fled the scene before officers arrived. 

"It's our belief that this is an isolated incident. So based on that, we don't believe there's any additional threat to the public,” Nowalk police Lt. Terrence Blake said.

The incident remains under investigation.
