Two local politicians are proposing changes in how the state and local government respond to allegations of child abuse.

New York State Senators Nick Spano (R-Westchester) and Raymond Meier (R-47th District) say they hope their plan to protect children from abuse in the home will be implemented in time to save lives. One point of their plan includes putting law enforcement, the child advocacy center and other agencies under one umbrella.

According to Senator Spano, starting February 15th a panel of experts will begin researching the circumstances and events that lead up to the death of a child in order to make policy recommendations.
