A key witness took the stand Monday in the federal corruption trial of Ramapo Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence.
The federal government claims St. Lawrence lied to investors and taxpayers and cooked the books in order to get favorable bond rates to build a baseball stadium.
Ned Flynn, the managing director of the underwriting firm that helped finance the stadium, testified that he would have killed the deal if he had known St. Lawrence had fabricated documents.
Under cross-examination, Flynn acknowledged there were many documents that suggested St. Lawrence did not act alone.
The trial continues Tuesday.
