Linden police have confirmed a helicopter made an emergency landing in the Trembly Point area of the city on Marshes Dock Road. 

Air Traffic Control at Linden Airport says it received a distress call from the helicopter around 9 a.m.

Linden  police say the helicopter, a Robinson R44 four-seat light helicopter, had engine problems and made a safe emergency landing just a few miles from the airport.

Police say it landed safely at the Citgo Terminal.

The two people on board were not injured.

Police say they don’t know where the helicopter had taken off from or its destination, but News 12 is told it’s owned and operated by Platinum Helicopters LLC, a company based in Princeton.

A spokesperson said she couldn’t give details at this time, but the owner of the company is on his way to look into what the problem was.

The FAA is handling the investigation.
