The Greenburgh Police Department will soon equip its officers with body cameras.
Greenburgh police say they will become the first law enforcement agency in Westchester to put body cameras on every single patrol officer.
Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says the department committed to the body cameras after testing three different types.
It will cost the town of Greenburgh around $240,000 to outfit the officers with the devices.
Feiner believes the cost will be worth it in the long run.
"I think it avoids a lot of disputes," he says. "People will be able to determine after an incident who was right or was wrong by just looking at the video."
Feiner says he is hoping to have officers equipped with the cameras sometime next month.
