On Wednesday after many months of protests, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his "Alternative F" plan, which decides where the Tappan Zee Bridge shared-use path will end in Rockland County.

"Alternative F," unlike the original plan, has many in South Nyack happy as it will end the path in the middle of Exit 10 on the New York State Thruway.

"The biggest thing is that intersection is really dangerous for bikers or anyone to go through, or drive through. The lights flash different colors and the sign is not visible, especially at night, so I hear screeching and honking every day," says Natalie Russell, a 13-year resident of South Nyack.

The plan will also allow for parking for the people using the path, keeping added traffic off South Nyack streets.

"It's been a long time coming and our village deserved what it got," says South Nyack Mayor Bonnie Christian. "And we can't be more pleased."
