Hundreds of people stepped up Sunday to help the family of a Rockland County correction officer whose daughter is waiting for a heart transplant.

Last month, Krissy and Marcos Munoz, of Stony Point, found out their daughter Bella needs a heart transplant.

Bella could not leave the hospital, but for the first time since she was admitted, her mother left to attend a 10-13 fundraiser held in her honor.

Marcos is a correction officer at the Rockland County Jail, and 10-13 is a radio code used law enforcement meaning officer in need of assistance.

The Correction Officer's Benevolent Association spearheaded the fundraiser to help support the Munoz family as Bella waits on a list for a life-saving heart transplant.

Hundreds bought tickets to the event held at the clubhouse at Patriot Hills in Stony Point Sunday afternoon.

Participants played casino games, danced to music played by a DJ and bought raffle tickets. The prizes were donated by local businesses and donors from across the country.
