A damaged retaining wall behind the site of a massive mudslide in Yonkers is continuing to hold.
A stone wall broke behind an apartment building at 95-97 Walsh Road last Wednesday, causing a mudslide and the evacuation of 109 tenants in the building.
Crews found cracks in the building's wall from the force of the landslide over the weekend, as well as water and mud on the first floor of the hallway.
Fire crews set up a shoring system to ensure the glass doors and windows wouldn't break from the force.
Officials say the next phase is to stabilize the wall so they can allow residents back in the building.
Yonkers fire officials will turn over the scene to the Yonkers Municipal Housing Authority and the Office of Emergency Management.
Officials say they are still looking at another week and a half before tenants can move back.
