Early voters excited, sometimes frustrated as polling places open in NYC

5ds agoIt was a busy first day of early voting in the Bronx, some
lining up for hours to cast their ballots.
News 12 spoke with voters outside the Bronx Supreme Court
polling place.
"I am just here to make sure my voice is heard,” said
one voter. “We really need change in this country and it starts with voting
early."
Nearby, elected officials held a rally Saturday to
encourage early voting, especially in underserved communities.
Some voters say they were frustrated by the long lines.
“It's worth the wait given what's at stake, but we
shouldn’t have to be out here doing a two-hour plus wait,” said one voter.
New Yorkers have nine days to cast their ballots before
Election Day. Polling sites close at 4 p.m. on weekends and vary during the
weekdays.
