As phase one of reopening rolls out in the Mid-Hudson region, people are looking ahead to phase two and what that entails.
Phase two includes four categories of business: real estate, professional services like hair salons and barber shops, administrative support and retail.
Phase one permits shoppers to use curbside or in-store pickup. Retail officials say they anticipate phase two will allow customers to go inside to shop, but plans haven't been released by the state yet.
Ted Potrikus, the president and CEO of the Retail Council of New York State says it has been indicated that there is a two-week period between each phase but is unsure of specifics.
Sen. David Carlucci says regional boards, which consist of local officials, determine when each phase begins. The decision rests on the trend of the seven metrics laid out by the state.
If there is no cause for delay, the Mid-Hudson region could move onto phase two as early as June 9.
