The annual turkey drive to benefit Island Harvest kicked off in Bethpage Friday.

Long Islanders were asked to drop off frozen turkeys, non-perishable food items, supermarket gift cards or cash donations.

The donations will go directly to Island Harvest Food Bank, which will help supply Thanksgiving holiday meals to more than 30,000 Long Islanders.
