County officials tell News 12 that the Rockland residents with the coronavirus are a man and a woman and that they were in self-quarantine when they began to get sick. The county health commissioner says they checked into a hospital to get looked at and are now in isolation at home. News 12 has not yet learned which hospital, if those people are family members or if they have families of their own.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day told News 12 that the county was battle-tested and ready for when coronavirus popped up in the county. The county says it will continue to check in on the patients daily.
"We have anticipated this scenario," said Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert, Rockland commissioner of health. "We will have more cases, I'm certain. And we will evaluate each one as they come across our desk. We have wonderful experts in our county."
The total number of confirmed cases in New York was up to 44 by Friday.
