19-year-old charged in West Nyack murder
A 19-year-old was charged with murder Tuesday in the stabbing death of a man in West Nyack.
Clarkstown police say that at around 1:45 a.m., Dylan Lentini stabbed Michael Wimbert inside his home at 68 Demarest Ave. Wimbert was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say a resident heard a young man running out of the multifamily residence yelling "call 911."
"We have him (Lentini) making a comment to the neighbor, 'call the hospital, call 911,' a laceration on his hand and he was interviewed by detectives," says Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan. "Based on that was probable cause to charge him with murder."
Lentini was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Clarkstown Town Court.
The relationship between Lentini and Wimbert is unknown at this time.
Lentini is being held in Rockland County Jail without bail.
