A conference focused on preventing gun violence is returning to Westchester for a second year.
The Youth Shelter Program of Westchester will host its second annual "Beyond the Bullet" conference Friday at the Westchester County Center.
Organizers say the event is designed to continue conversations about how communities can address and prevent gun violence.
The conference will bring together community leaders, law enforcement officials, survivors and public health experts from across New York.
This year's theme is "Emotional Safety is Public Safety."
Organizers say discussions will focus on emotional well-being, community support systems, schools and quality of life as key parts of public safety.
The event will also feature News 12's longstanding "Turn to Tara: Under the Gun" series. News 12's Tara Rosenblum will serve as moderator for this year's fireside chat.
The conference is free and open to the public.
