One of the most popular wrestlers in the world is using his platform to speak out against hate and inspire young people who want to be just like him.
Plainview's Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF, has been dreaming big since he's been a little boy.
His most recent achievement was being inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
"Having him do this at a time when antisemitism is so beyond hard to absorb, hard to believe the numbers, hard to believe the hate. The fact that he's using his platform for this is the proudest we can possibly be," says his mother, Nina Friedman.
When MJF speaks, a lot of people listen. It's because of the incredibly successful year he just had. In addition to the Hall of Fame, he just starred in his first movie and a few months ago was given the key to Oyster Bay.
"I'm not going to look into this camera and pretend I didn't expect it," says MJF. "I work hard. If you work hard, you can get anything done as long as you give 110% and I firmly believe that."
He wants all his younger fans to know that, too.
"I'm a Long Islander. So, if you have a dream that you think is a little insane, guess what? It's not. Work hard. You can make it happen. I'm living proof," he says.
