Yorktown officials said they have been preparing for Sunday's storm to arrive for days.
They spent the time leading up to the storm putting plows on their trucks and pre-salting the roads.
They spot-salted some areas of the town on Sunday because officials said there was a concern about the formation of black ice.
Officials said some of the blacktops were also slick on Sunday morning because the roads didn't completely dry up after Saturday's rain. They anticipated that about 4-6 inches of snow is expected to accumulate in Yorktown. They said they have about 400 lane miles to plow in the town.
Officials said they will do whatever it takes to keep the roads clear. They added that they are also preparing to declare a snow emergency at 2 p.m.
