In celebration of Pride Month, Yorktown is holding a Pride
Parade – the first ever in Northern Westchester.
The march starts at Yorktown Town Hall at noon. An
afterparty is being held at Yorktown Grille.
"Hate has no home here, so we pledge to that, we mean
that,” says Yorktown Town Supervisor Matt Slater. “We're trying to be a
community of hope and acceptance for everybody."
Rep. Mondaire Jones, the first Black and openly gay member
of Congress, will be speaking at the event.
Yorktown for Justice is asking local government leaders and
businesses to show their support by flying a rainbow flag.
