The family of a Yorktown native killed while away at college is thanking the community for the support they have received following her death.
Eighteen-year-old Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed last month in Chicago.
In a statement, her family said they are grateful for the tributes, donations and memorials made in her honor.
They said the outpouring of support shows just how many lives Sheridan touched.
Twenty-five-year-old Jose Medina-Medina, from Venezuela, is now facing state and federal charges in connection with the fatal shooting.
