Lockdown lifted at Yorktown school following nearby police investigation

Nearly a dozen New York state troopers descended upon a parking lot near George Washington Elementary School on Tuesday morning.
A criminal investigation prompted an hourslong lockout at the school.
Yorktown police were seen at the school all day, as the lockout only lifted when class ended.
New York State Police say the investigation is unrelated to George Washington Elementary and that there is no known threat.
Lakeland Central School District placed the school under a lockout out of an abundance of caution.
It's still unclear what prompted the investigation, but state police told News 12 it is ongoing
