Yorktown Democrats choose candidate for special election for town supervisor

Yorktown Democrats have selected their candidate for a special election for town supervisor.
Jann Mirchandani, who was the party's candidate last year, was selected at a meeting of the Yorktown Democratic Committee.
Mirchandani lost to Republican Tom Diana last November.
Diana died last month, just five days after beginning a two-year term.
Deputy Town Supervisor Ed Lachterman has been serving as acting supervisor.
Republicans will pick their candidate later this week.
The special election is set for April 16.
Early voting starts nine days before.
