A Yorktown custodian is being honored for saving an elementary student.
The district says Craig Nelson's quick thinking and heroic actions at Mohansic Elementary School may have saved a student who was choking last month.
Nelson saw the student choking and quickly performed the Heimlich until the student was OK.
He was honored at the most recent school board meeting, and the district says the entire school community is thankful for him.
