Police say Yonkers Public Schools are investigating alleged criminal behavior by a teacher.
Police say that Public School No. 212 teacher William Archacki, 50, walked up behind the student while holding a paring knife during school hours back in February. They say this caused the student to fear for their safety.
Archacki, from Buchanan, was a fifth-grade teacher at the school at the time of the incident.
He was placed on modified duty the day after the incident, pending the outcome of this investigation.
Archacki was arrested on April 13 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
He was later arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
