The second annual “Run Your Y” 5K Run and Walk took place at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, drawing runners, walkers and families of all ages in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month.

The run brought people together Saturday to get moving and to spark conversations about mental health.

Participants completed a 5K route through the park, with organizers emphasizing that people of all ages and fitness levels were welcome.

Organizers say that the event is about more than exercise — it is designed to remove the stigma surrounding mental health while encouraging community connection and wellness.

The event was organized by the office of José Alvarado, alongside One Paso and the Yonkers Running Project.

Organizers also reminded residents that mental health resources are available through Westchester County for those seeking support.
