Rain overwhelmed several Westchester cities Thursday, including parts of Yonkers where homeowners are worried about flooding.
People on Maple Place in Yonkers said they love their neighborhood, but as soon as it rains the fear sets in.
One resident said there was water everywhere and added that it's a frustrating situation. She added that the city should work harder to alleviate constant flooding.
A lot of her neighbors agree, including Dave Swatowy, who's lived in the neighborhood for almost all 70 years of his life.
"The neighborhood keeps getting built up more and more and the sewer system cannot handle it," Swatowy said.
The residents said they've asked for help from politicians but have gotten nothing - and now, they're extra frustrated.
Homeowners said they just completed repairs from Ida, having spent several thousands of dollars.
News 12 reached out to the City of Yonkers, which released a statement that reads, "The local area received a lot of rain in a short period of time. Crews are out to mitigate any issues as water has begun to recede in many of the hot spots."
