Police are searching for a man who they say was seen hiding inside a building on Orchard Street with a loaded gun Saturday.
Police officers accompanied by a SWAT team and a K-9 unit surrounded 144 and 148 Orchard St. at around 7 a.m. after receiving a tip from a cab driver, who reported spotting an armed man.
Police searched each apartment for about two hours, but did not find the suspect. Tenants of the building were told to stay inside during the investigation.
