Family, friends and hundreds of fellow officers turned out Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers to say a final goodbye to a fellow brother in blue.
Amid a sea of blue, the solemn sound of bagpipes filled the air as the coffin carrying the body of 33-year-old Thomas Goff Jr. was taken into the church for his funeral Mass. Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano was among some of the dignitaries who attended the Mass.
The 33-year-old served as an officer for the Yonkers police officer for the past three and half years.
Goff passed away suddenly this past Saturday while raking leaves in his backyard. He was found unconscious by his father and rushed to Lawrence Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Goff graduated from Sacred Heart grade school and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church.

Goff leaves behind his parents, two sisters and a brother. He will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
