A Yonkers police captain was in Chicago over the weekend to see the young woman he saved years ago walk down the aisle.
In 1993, Capt. Joseph Barca saved Shammah Hamideh on the front steps of the family's home in Yonkers. He performed CPR on the lifeless infant until the air was back in her lungs.
The duo reunited at a Chicago park over the weekend. "The feeling is just as excited as if it was one of my own sons. But being that she's a little girl, I'm sure there's going to be some tears being shed that day."
Hamideh walked down the aisle yesterday in Chicago, with her life-saver right there watching.
