There's just one day left to make your voice heard and give feedback to the Yonkers Police Department.

Yonkers police are asking the community to fill out a survey about their performance, police and public interaction, communication and crime reduction strategies. The survey can be found on the city's website.

Yonkers police say this information is helpful and allows them to improve and make changes.

Police say about 900 people took the survey last year.

"We exist to serve the community, so we want to know if we're doing a good job and we want to improve. Some of the improvements we make are major and some of the improvements are fine-tuning," says Lt. Robert Varley.

The survey results go directly to the city and Yonkers Police Department.

The City of Yonkers says not having a third-party organization collect the results reduces taxpayer costs. They say the survey is anonymous, so they're focusing on the answers and not who is doing them.

Dec. 28 is the last day to take the survey before it closes.
