Police in Yonkers arrested a reputed member of Mexican street gang Vatos Locos for the shooting death that occurred during a sweet 16 party.
Yunior Flores, 17, is charged in the weekend shooting of Eliazar Segundo, 18, during the party at the Portuguese American Community Center. Police say when members of a rival gang, Cholos 18, crashed the party, violence erupted. According to police, two gang members were stabbed and Flores opened fire in retaliation, killing Segundo. Two hours later, police say the violence continued when a 20-year-old was slashed with a machete.
Flores is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on murder charges. Police don?t expect to make more arrests in the murder, however, the investigation into the other stabbings is ongoing.
