A new bicycle program in Yonkers is allowing children and teens to ride their way to fun and exercise this summer.
The Yonkers Police Department and Mayor Mike Spano's "Youth Bikes Drive" collected 10 refurbished bicycles to be shared by residential students at Andrus, a mental and behavioral health agency in Yonkers.
The students, wearing donated helmets, will be able to ride the bikes throughout the agency's 107-acre campus.
The mayor is asking residents and businesses to keep the bike, helmet and safety equipment donations coming.
