News 12 visited Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers to hear how parishioners and members of the clergy feel about Pope Francis’s latest medical complications.
He has been hospitalized for over a week now with double pneumonia. According to Vatican News, Pope Francis is still in critical condition.
His team of doctors are expecting his hospitalization to last into next week. They say, "He's still not out of danger yet."
Father Robert Abbatiello held Mass today including a special prayer and moment of silence for the 88-year-old pontiff who has served in Vatican City since 2013.
"Pope Francis, who you know is in very critical condition, that’s God's will…That all of us Catholics throughout the world, almost 1.4 billion, join other Christians and other religions in prayer for our Holy Father,” he said.
The prayer was followed by a moment of silence.
In Pope Francis's most recent address, he urged members of the clergy to continue with joy and love despite his health issues.
